Expert Adviser
4 gurus in OSS accept the appointment as advisers on 29 June, 2010 in Beijing. They will provide guidance and advice to the publication of Linux Pilot Magazine and our web portal. As the opinion leaders of the open source community, their views will be expressed to foster the collaboration between the East and the West, as well as accelerating the cultural and business development of the open source software industry.

Professor Lu Shouqun
Professor Lu Shouqun is currently the Chairman of China Open Source Software Promotion Union (COPU), the Honored Chairman of China Linux University Promotion Alliance, the Vice Chairman of China Federation of Industrial Economics, the Director of Beijing Network Multimedia Laboratory, the president of China E-Government council. Prof. Lu was the Executive Vice Director of Informatization Office of the State Council and was appointed as the Senior Informatization Advisor of People’s Bank of China, State Administration of Radio and Television, Beijing People’s Municipal Government, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, State Information Center, Ministry of Aerospace and China Huaneng Group.
Mr. Guangnan Ni
Mr. Guangnan Ni graduated from Southeast University in 1961. He was the cofounder and CTO of Lenova. He led the development of Legend Chinese System and Legend Series PC, the two most important products of the company. Both products got the first-class prize of the State Award for Scientific and Technological Achievement in 1988 and 1992 respectively. Recently he is devoted to promotion of OSS represented by Linux, the homegrown CPU, the domestic software and the China National Document Format Standard UOF. In 1994 he was elected as the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. Currently he is the Professor of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the president of the Chinese Information Processing Society of China.
Mr. Jim Zemlin
Jim Zemlin, formerly executive director of the Free Standards Group, is the executive director of the Linux Foundation. Zemlin previously served as vice president of marketing for Covalent Technologies, the leader in products and services for the Apache web server. Prior to that, he was a member of the founding management team of Corio, a leading enterprise application service provider that had a successful initial public offering in July 2000. Widely quoted in the press on open source and commercial software trends, Zemlin has also been a keynote speaker at industry and financial conferences including Gartner’s Open Source Conference, Linux World and OSCON. Zemlin is an adviser on open source strategy to various companies and governmental groups including Hyperic, Zmanda and the Chinese Open Source Promotion Union.
Mr. Alan Kan
Mr. Alan Kan is the Chairman of Hong Kong Linux Industry Association since 2005.He is the Managing Director of Clever Motion Technology Limited. He is empowered with over 30 years experience in electronics and information technology. He is one of the pioneer in developing Linux and Open Source Software since Year 2000. He is specialized in e-form, workflow and data management. He encourages hardware and software vendor to support Linux and Open Source Software to lower the total cost of ownership for information technology.
